Chapel Hill
A charming college town.

WELCOME TO CHAPEL HILL

A historic, walkable city with an upbeat atmosphere

The historical University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill campus is always a draw for residents and this famous college town's frequent visitors. UNC is most well-known for its men’s and women’s D-1 sports programs. Insofar as Chapel Hill is a college town, sporting events and bars make the most noise. But UNC is primarily a vast medical and research institution that, along with Duke University and North Carolina State University, forms the famous Research Triangle.

When it comes to Chapel Hill's real estate options, the area does not disappoint as there are many beautiful homes to admire. While there are some contemporary home options as it pertains to Chapel Hill's homes for sale, many of Chapel Hill's homes can lean toward historic, impressive two-story brick or farmhouse styles. Multiple stately manors dot the area as well. Large yards are the norm rather than the exception, which applies to the outlying area around Chapel Hill.

Global Real Estate Advisor

Get to Know Me

Melanie Jones grew up constantly moving. When people ask "Where are you from," a lengthy answer ensues. She learned how to make friends fast, find the best place to buy an ice cream cone, and how pack a drawer to find even the smallest trinket when unpacking in the new house. Walking into a new school was never easy, but it taught Melanie a lot about herself and other people while also creating a love for travel and new places. She has lived in three countries and six states but has called Raleigh home for the past 20 years.

Melanie believes a home is your nest and your nest egg. By listening to client's needs and wants, and balancing them with market knowledge and analyses, Melanie guides her clients to make informed choices. Being part of the emotional and financial decisions involved in home buying is second nature to Melanie. Whether it is negotiating a contract or showing a property, Melanie works tenaciously for her clients. With an extensive list of expert service providers, she is able to get even the most complicated deals from contract to the closing table. She has been a Real Estate Agent for seven years and was in advertising prior to the career switch. Knowing how to communicate and relate to people is Melanie's biggest asset.

Melanie came to Raleigh with her Tar Heel husband, Greg, from New York City via Richmond. He was called as the fourth rector of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in 2004. She is frequently told she does not seem like a clergy spouse which is proven by her irreverent humor and her pew location in the back left side of the church. Melanie was excited to be part of a mid-size, growing city but the real draw to the area was to ACC sports. She played lacrosse at Brown University and was team captain as well as an All-Ivy and All-America selection for multiple years. She is consistently a leader and team player you want on your side. Since the Ivy League does not get much television coverage, she will go to any UNC game on any day she can get a ticket.

Melanie volunteers with her church and started a bi-annual women's retreat with national speakers known as The Gathering. She serves on the parent's admissions team at Saint Mary's School and is on the board of the Brown Alumni Group of the Triangle. She is an avid tennis player and has recently given up running for an obsession with her Peloton. Melanie and her husband live in Five Points with their three teenage daughters and rescue dog.
